Pre-admission Instructions

►Adult patients (12 years and above)

  1. Eating and drinking:
    1. Regular patients (non-diabetic patients): stop consuming regular, solid foods 6 hours, water 1 hour, and milk 4 hours, before the operation. It is recommended to stop drinking sharbat 2­-3 hours prior to the operation
    1. Patients with high blood-sugar (diabetic patients): stop consuming regular, solid foods 8 hours, water 1 hour, and milk 4 hours, before the operation.
  2. Don’t consume the tablets Asperin, Coumadin (Warfarin), Plavix, Osvix, as well as blood sugar control medicines, including Glibenclamide, Metformin, glitazone, except under the supervision of your attending doctor. Any medicine that is consumed for different diseases must be consumed at night and in the morning before coming to the hospital.
  3. Ampoules injected for various diseases must be injected at night and in the morning before the operation.
  4. Bath and shave the operation area before the surgery.
  5. Men should shave their faces
  6. Avoid using any nail polish/varnish or cosmetics.
  7. Report any dentures or dental crowns to the anesthesiologist on entering the operating room.
  8. Patients, especially elderly patients, must be accompanied by a first-degree relative.
  9. Addict patients can use drugs, as in the previous days.

►Under 12 patients:

  1. Suckling babies can consume milk up to 6 hours, and water and sharbat up to 4 hours, before the operation.
  2. Food eating babies must not eat food 8 hours before the operation but can drink water up to 2 hours before the surgery.

*** The child’s chaperone must be fully aware of the child’s general condition and talk to the anesthesiologist before the operation.

What to bring

  1. Patients must refrain from bringing any ornamental accessories to the hospital with themselves.
  2. Bring any disease-related medical records, radiology images, CT Scans, MRIs, sonographies,  and the results of any clinical trials, Electroencephalographies (EEGs), Electrocardiographies (ECGs/EKGs), , NCVs, and hearing tests with yourself.
  3. Patients must bring any regularly used medication.
  4. Patients should bring any regularly used respiratory inhalers.
